Chicago And the Terror Of Truth by Achike Chude

Image
Achike Chude Far away, across the seas and the oceans, across mountains and valleys, across countries and continents, a battle is taking place in the United States of America, in 'the land of the free and the brave'. It is a battle being fought by two antagonistic forces from a foreign land over a crime that may or may not have been committed by a foreigner in violation of that country’s domestic laws and the 'laws of international morality?' Two very big, influential, rich, and powerful men who were once business partners, political associates and allies are locked in a battle of wits in the judicial system of the United States in an attempt to unravel the matter of the mystery of one of them who is now the leader of a country with the largest concentration of black people in the world. Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president of Nigeria, says that the man he has dealt with in the past across different interests and issues is not who he says he is. He wants the American

The current generation of Yoruba leaders are served, they are not interested in serving anyone… There was this Awoist from Lagos Island, Ganiyu Dawodu, he was called. We also commend His Excellency, Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, for his work seeking to forge solutions to humanity’s common challenges. This is my first address before the General Assembly. Permit me to say a few words on behalf of Nigeria, on behalf of Africa, regarding this year’s theme. But broken promises, unfair treatment and outright exploitation from abroad have also exacted a heavy toll on our ability to progress. Given this long history, if this yea
