Sunday Igboho Shuns Ooni’s Invitation
Yoruba freedom fighter Chief Sunday Adeyemo known as Sunday Igboho has shunned the invitation of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife to a meeting over his activities to stem the tide of Fulani herdsmen’s spate of senseless killings of innocent lives and wanton destruction of properties.
This invitation was sent to Chief Adeyemo after Oba Ogunwusi met with Nigeria’s Major General Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the turn of event in the South Western region.
Igboho who was disappointed that Oba Ogunwusi did not communicate the full anger of the Yoruba people to Buhari said at a town hall meeting with the Diaspora that he believes the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi could have done a better job.
Oba Ogunwusi after meeting Buhari asked Igboho to lower his steam of activism and allow the security agents to resolve the herdsmen/farmers’ crisis.
It will be recalled that Oba Lamidi Adeyemi had earlier written an open letter to Mr Buhari to intimate him of the barbarity with which the Fulani herdsmen (Buhari’s kinsmen) destroyed people’s source of livelihood.
Igboho at the town hall meeting also lambasts some Yoruba leaders calling them “Fulani slaves”.
