How To Make Nigeria Work by Dr Muiz Banire.

Image
There is no doubt that the country is in a quagmire, putting it mildly, as some contenders believe that the country has even failed. As debatable as this could be, the truth remains that all certainly is not well with our nation. Is it the economic eclipse, prevalent and high level of insecurity, collapsing infrastructure, soaring state of unemployment and underemployment, health care that is virtually comatose, vanishing quality education, galloping and excruciating inflation with virtually valueless currency, progressive and ‘fantastic’ corruption impairing service delivery in all ramifications, continuous challenge to the rule of law precipitating anarchy already, grave level of policy incoherence and summersault, disturbing level of poor leadership engendering bad governance, moral and ethical decadence, political misdirection, etc? The list is endless and I can continue to multiply same. The afflictions are just too many to catalogue but suffice to simply and courteously state t

“I’m Not At War With You” ~ Igboho writes Buhari

Image
Frontline Oodua Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Igboho has sent a goodwill message to Nigeria’s regime leader, Rtd. Major General Mohammadu Buhari explaining the circumstances that led to his seperatist movement. Igboho in a message released by his lawyer said attack on his people in Ibarapa area where Fulani herdsmen wreaked havoc on the people and the Nigerian security agents could not secure the people’s lives and properties pushed him to take a measure that seemed to be on collision course with Gen. Buhari. About 5 months ago, Chief Adeyemo was apprehended in Benin Republic in his attempt to travel to Germany. Full Message: “Let it be abundantly clear that I am not at war with President Buhari, State Governors or anybody in government. What I want the government to do is address the genesis of my agitation for a Yoruba Nation. The genesis is the insecurity in Ibarapaland and other places in the South-West where farmers are habitually maimed, hacked to dea

Tinubu Advised to Jettison Ambition

Image
“Bola Tinubu should not bother to contest this coming presidential election because he is symptomatic of an extensive political illness transmitted from Mohammadu Buhari, a political robot who is bereft of the slightest tinge of ideas on how to run a country.”         ~Kola Olaniran~

Rèmí Oyèyemí: Oonirisa, to be divorced by a woman?

Image
“Our Kings in Yorùbá land were and still are not made for hypocritical, sanctimonious, pharisaical and duplicitous Caucasoid philosophy of “one man, one woman.” Any woman who comes into any palace in Yorùbá land expecting to marinate in this dubious European marital concept is unfit, ill-equipped, out of place, and unsuitable.” ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ “To be candid, Ooni Ogunwusi has not managed the situation well either. Why is he making the Oloris public? They are not to be seen or heard, and they are to remain permanently behind the scenes, behind the curtains, shielded, shrouded and cocooned from “public eyes.” He set himself up for this kind of embarrassment by giving them the clout they do not have and obviously, do not deserve. Does he consider himself a Governor with a First Lady? He has allowed himself to be used by these unscrupulous Jezebels who came to cultivate an image of royalty when they are dregs, only to embarrass him after getting what they want. This is why some of us shout out t

I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.” *Her Full Statement*: “I bless the Lord almighty for His faithfulness in the last 3 years of my marriage. In life’s journey, it isn’t how far. Still, how well, indeed though satan should buffet if trials should come, I have this blessed assurance controlling all situations and saying to me it is well with my soul. Certain

Buhari: Beyond The Limits Of Insensitivities. By Kola Olaniran

Image
“Loose lips sink ships” so they say.                           This week, Nigeria’s regime leader Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) came under the heavy hammer of the Twitter when in his characteristically uncivilized manner released an uncouth, irresponsible message that smacks of insensitivity capable of heating up an already tensed up polity. The message that was released on the Twitter sparked a global outrage among Nigerians at home and abroad and members of the diplomatic community in Nigeria. The palpable fear of insecurity in the South East of Nigeria occasioned by the separatists’ agitation for the Biafran Republic should have called for calm from someone who claims to be ‘President’ in a multi-ethnic and diverse country. Buhari had in a meeting with service Chiefs warned that he would not hesitate to deal with the agitators in a language they understand. What was thought to be a slip of the tongue was later released by Buhari’s handler/s on the Twitter to the chagrin of Ni

What A Beautiful Birthday Song!

Image
This is not a Miranda warning but a song of goodwill from a waitress simply known as Miranda. Inside the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Marion Illinois, Miranda the waitress thrilled a customer to a beautiful birthday rendition. When Jared’s friends told Miranda “today is his birthday” they were probably expecting a simple happy birthday message but they were treated to a never-to-be-forgotten birthday rendition that is capable of brightening one’s lifetime. Listen to the song and give Miranda a round of applause.🎈 https://youtu.be/zFGee_1XFlE

Odumakin: Triumph Of Activism Over Materialism by Dr Muiz Banire

Image
The remnants of the Revolutionary Left in Nigeria were recently dealt a devastating blow on the 2nd day of April, 2021, with the demise of the fiery activist, Yinka Odumakin. It is not that his death did not confound others of different orientations and ideological backgrounds, but the Leftists in Nigeria would probably lay claim to Odumakin as belonging to their primary constituency based on his antecedents and activism till death. The announcement of his death has left many in a state of shock, as there was no public knowledge of his prior ill health. On the same day, it was announced that another civil society activist, Innocent Chukwuma, bowed to the cold hands of death. It has been one death too many considering the fate that befell the same community of activists with the demise of some other ferocious fighters for human rights and revolutionary activism in the persons of Professor Abubakar Momoh and Bamidele Aturu who died a few years ago. However, news of Yinka’s death has co

Political Class And Conspiracy of Silence - Dr. Muiz Banire

Image
The security situation in Nigeria has become wholly intractable. What started as an isolated case of insurgency in some parts of Borno State has become a national malaise rapidly expanding and threatening the fragile fabric of the nation called Nigeria. The human losses at present have befuddled our capacity to take records and there is hardly an accurate account of people already consumed by the violence of the men of the gun. Thousands of lives have been snuffed out by Boko Haram bombs and guns in the northeastern parts of the country. Suddenly, the North-West caught the fever of banditry, which is operating in a most deadly fashion, leaving behind sorrow, tears and blood everywhere the unscrupulous young agents of death have chosen to carry out their nefarious businesses. Katsina State, the home state of the President, has not been spared the horrors of banditry, killing and kidnap. The volumes of death, maiming and rape of women by violent herders have left the whole of the North C

Burglary In Aso Rock: Who will deliver Buhari From Buhari? By Kola Olaniran

Image
The great poet Geoffrey Chaucer in one of his books asked, “if gold rusts, what would iron do? If Aso Rock, the current seat of power is no longer safe, what hope does an ordinary Nigerian have for his or her personal and property security? As Nigerians all over the world woke up to one of the most embarrassing news of burglary in Aso Rock where the current regime leader, Major General Muhammadu Buhari Rtd and some top government officials reside and conduct the government business, what was first thought to be one of those April fool scenarios (even in the month of May) became a reality.  At one point, I was expecting Buhari’s information minister who has lost the capacity to view Buhari’s incompetence through an objective prism to dismiss the incident as the figment of the critics’ peurile imagination but lo and behold the story was real as a frantic attempt was said to have been made by dare-devil robbers to burgle the house being occupied by Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Ga

Tani Adewumi: From Homeless Shelter To Stardom, Ten Year-old Nigerian Kid Transforms His Family In The US. ~By Kola Olaniran

Image
When Tani Adewumi arrived in the US with his parents who fled the excruciating conditions of their poorly-managed, Boko Haram-ravaged country, Nigeria, he had no inkling of a life-changing dramatic turnaround that would transform his family. Days after their arrival in the US, Tani’s parents, Kayode and Oluwatoyin Adewumi faced a precarious condition, if they knew where their next meal would come from, they did not know where they would lay their heads on. They were poor, they were homeless until the City of New York (NYC) provided them a homeless shelter where Tani’s journey to stardom began. Right there in the homeless shelter, Tani was enrolled in school where he kept the right company of friends who enjoyed playing the chess game. 8 year-old Tani later emerged winner of the New York State chess championship for his age group. Thereafter, his story went viral. “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men” says the scripture (Proverbs 18:16). Tani’s story has fe

Boldest Nigerian Governor Descends Heavily On Buhari Over Insensitivity.

Nigeria’s regime leader Rtd Major General Muhammadu Buhari came under fire over the spate of senseless killings in the country by Fulani herdsmen, (his kinsmen).   At a press conference, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom pounced heavily on Buhari for the preferential treatment of his Fulani kinsmen whose orgy of violence has ravaged lives and properties throughout the country. At one point Ortom portrayed Buhari as a man of good character but later hit the nail in the head by taking Buhari to the cleaner over his silence when his kinsmen are destroying lives and properties.
